Please reach us at info@phoenixtattoo.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
No, I'm afraid not. Not even with parental consent. I’m afraid that it is illegal for us to tattoo anyone under the age of 18 years old. The 1969 Tattooing of Minors Act states this.
Yes. We operate a challenge 25 policy. Therefore, if you look under the age of 25, we will ask you to prove your age with valid photographic ID. This ID must be within date and carry your photo on it i.e. a passport, a driving or provisional licence, a Young Scots card. Please do not book a tattoo if you are unable to provide us with ID when requested; this will be 48 hours before your appointment date, via our online consent form.
No, I'm sorry I'm afraid that we can't. There's a couple of reasons for this. Firstly our tattoo artists are artists in their own right, they want to tattoo their own designs, not someone else's. Secondly, I'm afraid that there is also copyright laws on all created designs, we won't subject ourselves or you to copyright infringement.
It is our reception team's job to liaise with you at the booking stage to ascertain your ideas for your tattoo design. You will be encouraged to supply us with as much information and reference images as possible. We don't directly copy another artists work or an internet found design. It’s not fair on the artist who did it originally, it’s actually a breach of copyright and also, it’s also not fair on you. We'd rather give you a one-off unique piece of art that no one else has got. However, references are useful for us to visually gauge what you like.
I'm afraid that due to the artist’s workloads, your design will be ready for you to view on the day of your booking and not before. Should you wish to make any changes to your design, they can be made on the day of your booking. Nowadays the artists use iPads and design electronically so making changes is relatively easy and not very time consuming. Please bear in mind that the artist will have drawn up the best piece possible from your reference images as they know what will work best.
We unfortunately don’t have a set price for a full sleeve project.
We get the “How long or how much for a sleeve?” question asked quite a bit, however it’s really one of those “how long is a piece of string?” Type of questions.
How long it takes depends on several different factors, the two most important being - the content of the design, i.e. how detailed it is and how big your arm is. Obviously if you have arm’s the size of The Rock it’s going to take longer than if you have little arms.
So, If you wanted me to give you an estimated guide, really all I can do is give you the average time it takes our artists. When undertaking large scale projects like sleeves or back pieces then you are better off sitting for full day sessions. These are better value for money, each artist has his or her own day rate but on average its between £400/£450 per day.
So normally our artists take around 4-6 full day sessions to complete a sleeve. Usually a 1/4 of an arm is achievable in a sitting, so one day = inside forearm, another = outside forearm, another = upper bicep, another = inside upper arm, and then 1-2 more day for any gap fillers, shading etc.
At the average of 4-6 full day sittings, then you’re looking at £1800-£2700 for a full sleeve, based on an artist who is £450 per day.
Our artists will go through aftercare with you when you are in the studio and also provide you with a written aftercare leaflet to refresh your memory when you get home. Should you happen to mislay it, it is available at the top of this page in the downloads section.
WE ONLY RECOMMEND ONE BRAND OF AFTERCARE PRODUCT - CROCLITE!
CrocLite is natures finest tattoo aftercare. We not only use this product, during completing your tattoo but we also recommend it for healing because we know how this range heals and protects your skin. This is available to be purchased in the studio.
In our experience we have seen many tattoos not heal well because of bad aftercare … people use ranges of lotions and potions on their skin because the friend of their Great Aunt, who’s never had a tattoo recommends something! We know about the inks and colours used during the tattoo process and how the skin heals, please take our advice.
Therefore, we are not responsible for a badly healed tattoo because you have not followed our advice. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO OFFER FREE OF CHARGE RETOUCHES IF YOU CHOOSE ANY OTHER AFTERCARE PRODUCTS OTHER THAN THOSE PRESCRIBED BY THIS STUDIO.
Please note - Free of Charge touch ups only relate to tattoo’d areas that do not fade naturally. Therefore this policy does not extend to fingers, hands, palms, elbows, knees, feet, soles of the feet.
No, I'm afraid not. You are not to be under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. Not only do these affect the blood and the ability for us to tattoo, it also affects your judgement. Legally, if we SUSPECT that someone is under the influence, we are not allowed to tattoo them. Even if you come into the studio smelling of alcohol or drugs, but you tell me that you’ve not partaken yourself (i.e. you’ve been with someone smoking or drinking), we will still not tattoo you. If we refuse to tattoo you because we suspect that you are under the influence, you will lose your deposit.
We have a very strict 48-hour deposits and cancellations policy; the terms and conditions of your booking is detailed in the download section at the top of this page. We understand that life changes, should you need to move your booking for any reason then we need to have more than 48 hours notice in order to protect your deposit. Should less than 48 Horus notice be given then unfortunately your deposit will be lost.
PLEASE NOTE, WE ARE NOT RESPONSILBLE FOR REMINDING YOU ABOUT YOUR APPOINTMENT!
